The Organ of Saint Mary's Church

The magnificent organ found at St Mary's was placed as a memorial
to the men of the congregation who gave their lives during the Great War.

However this historic instrument, built by Messrs, J.W. Walker & Sons Ltd in 1909 began lifeas one of three organs in the family home of Sir Joseph Beecham, Hampsted, father to the esteemed musician and conductor Sir Thomas Beecham. Following Sir Joseph Beecham's Death in January 1917 the organ was installed at St Mary's in 1921 to stand as a memorial to those of the Parish who gave their lives during World War 1.
